When the trailer was dropped, Linsey Godfrey took to Instagram to announce her best friend’s part in the movie.
Godfrey posted, “It’s here!! The trailer for Kim Matula’s new movie Saturday Night!! I’m so excited for her and I’m so excited for this movie! When I heard she was auditioning I knew it was hers. Congratulations to my bestest of friends Kimberly! I love you so much!”
The highly-anticipated motion picture about the first broadcast of Saturday Night Live revealed this past week its official trailer, and former ‘Bold and Beautiful’ star Kim Matula is part of the ensemble cast where she portrays Jane Curtin.
Both Matula and Godfrey appeared together on “Bold & the Beautiful.” Kim played Hope Logan from 2010-2016 while Linsey played Caroline Spencer from 2012-2016.
“Saturday Night” the film details the story of what happened with the young comics & writers 90 minutes before taking the stage before the first episode of the iconic satire series, “Saturday Night Live.”
Besides Kim as Jane, the motion pictures bosts a cast including: Teen Wolf’s Dylan O’Brien as Dan Aykroyd, Ella Hunt as Gilda Radner, Cory Michael Smith as Chevy Chase, Matt Wood as John Belushi, while Gabriel LaBelle plays series creator and executive producer, Lorne Michaels. Other notables in the cast include: Willem Dafoe, Jon Batiste, Matthew Rhys and J.K. Simmons. Saturday Night is directed by Jason Reitman and written by Reitman with Gil Kenan.
Circle October 11th when the film is released in theatres everywhere, which also will mark the 49-year milestone of the comedy series which premiered on that very date back on NBC in 1975.
It warms our hearts to see the two former co-stars continuing to support one another well beyond their days as co-stars.
